Awards & Scholarships

ASA, CSSA, and SSSA honor and celebrate the achievements of those in the agronomic sciences to recognize excellence and leadership in research, education, industry achievement, and mentorship; and bestow the prestigious designation of Fellow.  In addition, we offer graduate and undergraduate scholarships that recognizes students’ academic achievements and leadership. Each year, we honor our award recipients at our Annual Meeting awards ceremonies, within our Hall of Fame display, and in CSA News magazine.

Nominate a colleague who deserves to be recognized for their achievements - all awards except Fellows allow for self-nominations.  We encourage nominations to reflect the diversity of our membership. Note: Self-nominations can see reference letters within the nomination packet. 

Ready to Start the Process? 2025 Award Nominations open January 21st!

• Review ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Award descriptions
• Initiate the nomination by March 18th, 4:00 pm Central
• Enter required references – the references will receive email instructions to submit letters by March 25th, 4:00 pm Central
• Submit the nomination AND required number of reference letters (which must be done by March 25th, 4:00 pm Central)

Interested in student scholarships?

• Undergraduate and Graduate Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships!
• Learn more about and apply for our Golden Opportunity and Greenfield Scholar programs.
• All student scholarships need to be initiated by March 18th with reference letters and final submission March 25th.

Policies and Notes

Award committee members may not be a nominee, nominator or reference for the award for which their committee is responsible. They can participate in all other awards. View the ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Boards of Directors' specific policies regarding their eligibility.
